Aahh Labor Day, one of the last nice days of summer filled with barbeques and friends. Keep in mind this beautiful day that hockey season is just around the corner and a few cheeseburgers and mac salad won’t hurt your young hockey stars. The ice is going in and team rosters are being whittled down to find that perfect combination of players who will hoist the 2020 Clark Cup.

There’s always something going on around the league and this past week was no different. The Tri-City Storm added Jason Koehler as their new Assistant General Manager. For the past 10 years Koehler was working with the Youngstown Phantoms and played an integral role on the 2014–15 Anderson Cup championship team. “I’m excited to come to Tri-City and I’m very fortunate to come to an organization that has had recent success. Coach Noreen and myself have a personal relationship from working together in Youngstown, and I’ve known Steve Lowe for many years from working in hockey,” said Koehler.

Other news includes all teams releasing their 30-man protected and affiliate lists. To view all players, see here.

Keep an eye out for your favorite teams’ season ticket sales as they become available this week and be sure to stay up-to-date with all things junior hockey by following me on Twitter @NwinansW. See you next week.
